Reform Judaism is often cited as the Prophetic sect of our tradition, but what does that mean? What does it mean to be descendants of the Prophets? Join Wednesday Study Group for an exploration of these humans who spoke for God. For this class, we will be using Abraham Joshua Heschel’s famous book, The Prophets. All materials will be provided. Join us as we learn how we can champion the causes the Prophets set forth thousands of years ago.
This session of the Wednesday Study Group will continue to meet virtually, on Zoom starting Wednesday, February 21, and run through May 22. (We will skip April 24 and April 30)

Every Tuesday, Washington Hebrew’s 2239 community will dive into the week’s Torah portion, and with fresh insight and perspective, return to the workday renewed.
If you’re going to scroll during your lunch break, it doesn’t get better than Torah.

Every Shabbat morning, we begin the day with an informal group at Temple to study parashat hashavua, the weekly Torah portion, in English. Led by one of the clergy, we analyze, question, and reflect on Judaism’s central text. All are welcome — just occasionally or every week — and absolutely no background knowledge or familiarity with Hebrew is necessary!
Gather to read this week’s portion together at 8:30 am Clergy-led discussion at 9:00 am
Join us in person at Temple, or join us on Zoom!
