For nearly 35 years, WHC has had an exceptional and innovative preschool. The Rabbi Joseph Weinberg Early Childhood Center (RJWECC) at our Maryland campus and Edlavitch-Tyser Early Childhood Center (E-T ECC) at Temple provide a warm, positive environment where children can discover themselves and the world around them.
Through “hands-on” activities, we strive to stimulate a child’s natural creative interests and to help build a positive self-image in a friendly group atmosphere.
We have re-opened our Early Childhood Center in Potomac, Maryland for in-person programming!
We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation in our area and any changes that may impact our decision. We recognize the volatility of the health pandemic in which we are currently living in and remain in frequent conversation with WHC’s Reopening Task Force, which includes two medical professionals that regularly monitor key data, staying abreast of information necessary to make an informed decision.
Exciting news! Our ECC is now open for in-school programming!
At Washington Hebrew Congregation’s Rabbi Joseph Weinberg Early Childhood Center (RJWECC), children are encouraged to be creative and curious.
Our days are filled with both teacher-led and child-initiated activities. The teachers spend time helping children communicate with each other, negotiate problems, ask questions, value their own ideas, and discover the joy of learning.

WHC is supporting your children beyond the walls of our early childhood centers! Our “Sweet Beginnings” online programming has been developed around children’s interests and curiosity.
With Jewish values and developmentally appropriate experiences in mind, your children will build and renew friendships and continue to flourish.
