Adult Opportunities for 20s and 30s

  • With a growing network of more than 4,000 people, 2239 is a fantastic way for Jewish adults between the ages of 22 and 39 to meet each other and deepen their Jewish identity.
  • From Shabbat to holidays to social events, we affirm the values of progressive, egalitarian Judaism and welcome you to join us.
  • 2239 is supported and sustained by Washington Hebrew Congregation.

Hang Out With Us!

On the first Friday of each month, 2239 hosts Metro Minyan at WHC. We always begin the evening with a Shot of Torah (Torah study + hors d’oeuvres and drinks). Then we gather for an inspiring, accessible, and musical Kabbalat Shabbat service followed by dinner from some of DC’s best restaurants. Metro Minyans are a great way to meet new friends and catch up with old ones. Wherever you are in your Shabbat practice, you are welcome to join us.

Can’t get home for the holidays or just want to celebrate here in DC? We’ve got you covered. 2239 offers a meaningful and uplifting way to celebrate the High Holy Days as well as Hanukkah, Purim, Passover, Shavuot, and more.

A Social Outlet

In addition to Shabbat and Holidays, 2239 hosts a variety of experiences throughout the year – from Havdalah Yoga to laser tag to wine tastings, Nats outings, and more. Join us!
