Join us and help those in need in our area have a happy Thanksgiving holiday.
This year, the focus of Sunday Stuffing will be the “All the Fixin’s” project that will provide 550 bags of Thanksgiving essentials to families from Abram Simon Elementary School, N Street Village, National Capital Area YWCA, and Friendship Place. Emily Kishter, volunteer chairperson, the TOV committee, and WHC staff look forward to your participation.
This year, there are 3 ways you can participate:
Donate specific items through one (or many) of WHC’s auxiliary and affinity groups by November 8. SEE THE LIST
Sponsor an All the Fixin’s bag by making a $45 donation to WHC’s TOV Fund. DONATE
Special “Thank You” to Wegmans for donating this year’s reusable grocery bags for our All the Fixin’s project!
These projects are perfect for volunteers of all ages.
Sunday Stuffing kicks off the cold-weather tikkun olam season. Help tie no-sew blankets that will be given to our local partners to help those in need stay warm this winter.
Grab a hairnet, gloves, and an apron and help pack 10,000+ meals that will help fight hunger and food insecurity right here in the DMV. It’s one of WHC’s favorite tikkun olam traditions.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we’re making turkey sandwiches to donate to one of our Sunday Stuffing partner organizations. From there, they will go to our local partners who will get them directly to those fighting hunger and food insecurity right here in our area, just in time for “Turkey Day.”
A new favorite volunteer project at WHC! Join us to roll bags of underwear for children in need in the DC area.
Calling all bakers! Help us make blueberry muffins for some of our local partners to distribute throughout the community.
Help assemble bags of healthy trail mix snacks to benefit multiple organizations working with the homeless and hungry.

Through our partnership with Hope for Henry, we’re on a mission to help kids in local hospitals have very happy holidays! Pick up a “gift box” from our display in Kreeger Lobby starting at Sunday Stuffing (November 19) and fulfill the wish inside.
Please bring all unwrapped presents to Temple in time for Shabbat Hanukkah on Friday, December 8.
Can’t make it to Temple to grab a bag? Contact Lauren Lieberman, and she’ll select one for you.
Can’t attend Sunday Stuffing? Consider a donation instead. A $45 donation will pay for one “All the Fixin’s bags” to be assembled on your behalf.
