Ways to Give

There are many meaningful ways to support Washington Hebrew Congregation. Whether you’re making an annual gift, honoring a milestone, or planning for the future, we’re grateful for your generosity. Digital gifts (credit card or ACH) are the quickest for our team to process and help ensure your gift is received and acknowledged promptly.

Credit Card
Make a gift online using a credit card. Online gifts are the fastest way for our team to process your donation and ensure you receive a timely acknowledgment. (Please note: credit card gifts include a 3% processing fee.)

ACH / Direct Bank Debit
ACH is a secure way to give directly from your bank account. It’s quick for our team to process.

Check
Checks are always welcome. Please make payable to Washington Hebrew Congregation and note your intended purpose (Annual Fund, a specific fund, in honor/memory, etc.) in the memo line. You can mail checks to:

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) & Family Foundations
You can recommend a grant to WHC through your donor-advised fund or family foundation. Please include your name and any designation details so we can ensure your gift is directed as you intend and properly acknowledged.

Gifts of Stock / Appreciated Securities
Gifts of appreciated securities can be a meaningful way to support WHC, and a tax-efficient way to contribute. For stock transfer instructions, please contact Drew Golub, CFO at 202-895-6315 or dgolub@whctemple.org.

Gifts from Your IRA (QCD / RMD Giving)
If you’re eligible to make a charitable gift directly from your IRA (if you’re over 70.5), this can be a simple, impactful way to support WHC. Your IRA administrator can send funds directly to WHC, and you can designate your gift to the Annual Fund, membership, or another area of Temple life that matters most to you.

Legacy Giving
By including WHC in your estate plans, you help ensure our community remains strong for generations to come. Legacy donors are recognized through the 1852 Legacy Society.

Thank you for your generosity and support!

“Our family joined WHC when our three children were young, and we’ve celebrated every meaningful milestone with pride among the congregation. The joyful cycle of namings, B’nai Mitzvot, and weddings of our children - all officiated by WHC clergy - has transitioned to namings of all four of our young grandchildren. The WHC clergy and staff provide support and consolation during the difficult times as we have said goodbye to our own parents, also proud WHC members. Our family’s affiliation with the temple has enriched our many generations, and we will be eternally grateful.”
