Deep Dive: Grief & Judaism

Wednesdays in July | 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM | Temple

Wednesday evenings in July, 7-9 PM at Temple

Grief overwhelms and isolates, but can also heal. Join us for this four-week series on the ways death and grief are viewed in our tradition and discover ways we can navigate the journey of mourning.

We will explore personal grief

what do we do when a parent, child, partner, or friend passes away?

We will also explore national grief

how have Jews traditionally mourned as a nation? As moments of national grief continue to recur for us as Americans, how can we utilize our tradition to harness grief to produce change?

This class is sponsored by 2239. There are not typically a lot of opportunities to work through grief and loss in our 20s and 30s. We want to help change that by gearing this class towards that cohort. However, this class is open and welcome to anyone, no matter their life stage or the grief they are dealing with. This class will be team-taught by WHC clergy.

This class costs $36 for WHC members; $54 for non-members

Dinner will be included each week.
