Dan is a 30-year WHC member who returns to the Board as president of Brotherhood. Brotherhood involvement is only one of his many congregational activities, including a WHC staff position as the former 7th Grade Religious School Coordinator, a past Team Leader for Mitzvah Day, an Early Shabbat Service lay leader, frequent usher at Services, Lay leader for lay-lead reading session of Early Torah classes, Red Apron and Vice-Chair of WHC’s Hunger Project, a Shiva Minyon leader, a member of the Budget & Finance Committee, the Rabbinic Transition Committee, the Rabbinic Search Committee for Rabbi Schmelkin, and a 2017 WHC Avodah Award recipient.
Outside Judaic activities and experience includes being a Graduate of the School for Advance Jewish Studies, a participant in the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington’s Young Leadership Development Program, a participant in the Anti-Defamation League’s Steinberg Leadership Institute, and a volunteer Shabbat Service leader at Spring House Bethesda and Ring House Assisted Living Communities.
Professionally, Dan is a graduate of the Kogod School of Business Administration at American University and a Market Leader/Branch Manager with Geneva Financial LLC, Residential Mortgage Lenders. He is the immediate past Chairperson of Montgomery County Executive’s Committee on Consumer Protection and a volunteer instructor for first time homebuyer education programs for Montgomery County.
