Shabbat Hanukkah

Friday December 16, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Hybrid – Temple

Lit Hanukkiayah
  • This event has passed.

Together with WHC clergy, welcome Shabbat together as one WHC community and celebrate Hanukkah!! Bring your favorite hanukkiyah, and we’ll provide candles for a congregational candle lighting. Need a new hanukkiyah or extra candles for home? The award-winning Women of WHC Judaica Shop will have a pop-up store for all your holiday needs. Registration for Shabbat Hanukkah is now closed. Walk-ins are of course welcome, so we hope to see you at Temple this evening!

  • 5:00 – 6:00 pm – Tot Experience with Shabbat, a Family Dinner, and PJ Library craft activity.
  • 6:15 – 6:50 pm – Snack, Sip, & Schmooze

SNACK — Hanukkah-themed dinner with latkes, falafel, chicken roti, salads, and more! Perfect for families looking to feed their kids (and themselves) before the service — and help get everyone into the holiday spirit!

SIP — Beer, wine, hot chocolate bar (regular & “adult” versions), and non-alcoholic drinks will be available.

SCHMOOZE — This half-hour is a great time to connect with the people around you! Kids (and playful grown-ups) can play with giant Connect 4 and Jenga sets, cornhole, and other arts & crafts activities. Obviously, everyone can have their turn with dreidels, too!

  • 6:30 – 6:50 pm — 2239 Shot of Torah (Torah Study)
  • 6:50 – 7:00 pm — Congregational Hanukkiyah & Shabbat Candle Lighting
  • 7:00 – 8:00 pm — Shabbat Hanukkah Service* featuring Metro Minyan
  • 8:00 – 8:30 pm — Dessert Oneg & Hanukkah Celebration
  • 8:00 pm — 2239’s Metro Minyan Hanukkah Dinner (Registration Required)

*A livestream is also available for those who cannot join us in person.
