Mitzvah Day

April 3, 2022

  • This event has passed.

In 1991, Rabbi M. Bruce Lustig and a devoted group of lay leaders initiated “Mitzvah Day” – a day for volunteers of all ages to come together, lending their time, energy, and compassion to work on projects for social service agencies that would improve the lives of people in need.

In keeping with Judaism’s teachings of tikkun olam, to repair the world, Mitzvah Day inspires participants to pursue justice through social activism.

In the years since its inception, Mitzvah Day has evolved into one of the Congregation’s largest annual events and serves as a national model, adopted by synagogues around the world.

For 2022, we have projects available at Temple, JBSC, out in the community, as well as projects that can be completed at home.  There’s something for everyone!
