A Discussion with Filmmaker Ilana Trachtman
Wednesday, December 16
7:00 pm on Zoom
We have great and rare opportunity to learn alongside Ilana Trachtman, a talented filmmaker who has been working on a documentary looking at the protests at Glen Echo Amusement Park, where entrance was restricted to “whites only” and “no blacks allowed” prior to 1960.
Join us as Ilana shares the stories of how a few students from Howard University and the residents of Bannockburn in Montgomery County joined together — marking the first time that the black and white communities stood in solidarity against racial inequality and worked to bring about change.
As part of our Congregational Conversations program on Wednesday, Ilana will discuss the relevance of this unprecedented collaboration, and invite questions.
We are confident this will be a fascinating discussion and hope you will join us and our community interfaith partners for an evening of learning and discussion.
