Rabbi Lustig Addresses White House Eid ul Adha Reception

Senior Rabbi Bruce Lustig spoke on interfaith understanding and cooperation at the first Eid ul Adha Reception hosted by the White House on October 14. Rabbi Lustig was invited to speak at the suggestion of the Muslim community. Leaders of all faith backgrounds came together to celebrate Eid ul Adha, a festival holiday which honors Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his only son.
 
Other speakers included Emre Celik, President of the Rumi Forum, an organization which promotes peace and intercultural dialogue; Imam Zia founder of MakeSpace, an organization for Muslim young professionals; and Melissa Rogers, Executive Director of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.
