Cathy Scheineson

Cathy Scheineson has been an active member of Washington Hebrew Congregation for more than 25 years and serves as Co-Chair of the Community Issues Social Action Committee. She was a member of the 2008 adult B’nei Mitzvah class and traveled that same year to Israel on the Temple family trip.

A graduate of Smith College and the George Washington University Law School, Cathy has an LLM in global health law and a certificate in international human rights law from Georgetown University Law Center. She is a Partner in the health law department at McDermott Will & Emery LLP where she primarily represents nonprofit health care entities in corporate transactions. Cathy is very active in McDermott’s pro bono program, and in 2012, she received McDermott’s Award for Outstanding Achievement and Commitment to Pro Bono and Service to the Community and was recognized by the American Health Lawyers Association as a Pro Bono Champion.

Cathy is a member of the ADL Executive Committee for the Washington, D.C. region and is Treasurer and a member of the Board of Hope House D.C., a program for children whose fathers are incarcerated. Cathy and her husband, Marc, have a son and daughter, Andrew and Sara, both of whom became B’nei Mitzvah and were confirmed at Washington Hebrew Congregation.
