Lynn Sachs

Lynn Sachs has been a member of Washington Hebrew Congregation since 2004 and has served on its Board of Directors since 2013. She also serves as WHC’s Representative to the Friendship Place Board of Directors. Lynn’s connection to Temple began when she was a college student serving as a youth staff member on Rabbi Weinberg’s retreats and as a tutor for WHC children preparing for their B’nei Mitzvah.

Lynn graduated from George Washington University with a degree in Middle East studies and held positions as a Staff Director on Capitol Hill and in the Legislative Affairs Offices of the White House, Office of Management and Budget, and the National Security Council. Lynn was a Founding Member of the D.C. Jewish Community Center and served as President of its Board from 1991-1995. She is a former President of the Sidwell Friends parents association and a former member of the American Friends of Hebrew University steering committee.

Lynn is married to John Sachs, a Partner at the law firm of Latham & Watkins, and they have two children, Ricky and Adam. Both became Bar Mitzvah at WHC, and Adam also attended the Early Childhood Center and was a member of the 2012 Confirmation class.
