MEET OUR EARLY CHILDHOOD DIRECTORS

Jill Weiner, E-T ECC Director

Jill joined Washington Hebrew Congregation’s E-T ECC as the director in the fall of 2025, bringing 15 years of experience teaching in Jewish-Reggio inspired preschools.

Originally from Boston, Jill moved to DC in 2020 with her husband who attended graduate school in the area. She holds a master’s degree in early childhood education from Lesley University and is currently pursuing her Ed.D in Early Childhood Educational Leadership at American Jewish University. Her dissertation topic focuses on the mental load of Jewish mothers in Jewish picture books.

Jill believes that children have the right to play, explore, and be curious. Early childhood education sets the foundation for a love of learning, discovery, and experiencing new things.

In her free time, you can find Jill running and biking long distances, baking, reading, and writing.

Louise Van Schaack, RJW ECC Director

Louise joined Washington Hebrew Congregation as the RJW-ECC Director in 2024.

Louise comes to WHC with over 25 years in education. She worked in elementary and early childhood settings.

Louise believes that a great early childhood education experience is a priority. It sets children on a successful path for life. Early childhood is a time for learning how to be a good human and to develop a love for learning.

Louise enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, and connecting.
