Engagement Programming for Families with Children Ages 0-5

At Washington Hebrew Congregation, we believe that learning is a process of construction, growth, and reflection.

Our team of educators provides intentional experiences that will spark questions, inspire creativity, and set the stage for positive interactions. Our inquiry-based educational approach integrates important 21st-century skills like creativity, collaboration, and communication. Jewish ethical values help provide a foundation from which we strive to nurture, support, and create connections with our children, families, professional staff, and community.

Pregnancy Group

If you’re looking for  open, honest conversations about the wonders, awe, frustrations, and ridiculousness of pregnancy, this group is for you. Our discussions are framed in a Jewish light, and focus on building a community of soon-to-be moms who can depend on each other for years to come.

Caregiver-Child Play Dates

We view learning as a life-long journey, and our educators are committed to learning in partnership with the children. With Caregiver-Child Play Dates, children and caregivers connect and grow through interactive play, movement, songs, and games. Little ones explore emotions, practice sharing, develop empathy skills, build frustration tolerance, and cultivate resilience. This class is open to children under 24 months, accompanied by an adult caregiver.

New Moms Group

Having a new baby is an incredible miracle and simcha (joy!) — but with it comes big changes and challenges. In our New Moms Group, you’ll have the opportunity to build community with other moms as you share, vent, and celebrate together. Moms are invited to come with their babies – or without!
