Mark has been an active WHC member for more than 20 years. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2010 and the Executive Committee since 2012.

Mark has also been involved in numerous committees, both as a member and as a chair or co-chair, including several Cantorial and Rabbinic Search Committees and the Adult Education, Worship & Music, Professional Development, and Budget & Finance Committees.

Mark also served as a longtime Board member (and also Chairman) of Everybody Wins! DC, a children’s literacy organization. He is actively involved with, and regularly provides pro bono legal advice to, many other charitable and not-for-profit organizations. As a Senior Corporate Partner at the law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, he advises public companies and private equity sponsors on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, securities compliance, and other corporate matters. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from Harvard College and his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.

Mark and his wife Shari, who helped start the Temple’s Boomers auxiliary, live in Potomac and have two daughters, Brittani (who teaches elementary school art in Carroll County, MD) and Chelsea (who works for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation).
