Janet Katz is a native Washingtonian who has been a member of Washington Hebrew Congregation for 20 years. She was a member of the Board of Directors from 2011-2020. During that time, Janet served as a Vice President on the Executive Committee and served on several other committees, including the Professional Development Committee. She served on the Carrie Simon House Board of Directors and was Chair of the Carrie Simon House volunteer committee.

Janet is involved in a wide range of Temple activities; she is a past Mitzvah Day Vice Chair and Chair and past Chair of Sunday Stuffings. She has co-chaired two rabbinical search committees. Janet was active with both the Early Childhood Center and Religious School. Janet is also a former Board member for the regional B’nai Brith Youth Organization.

Janet is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and spent the early part of her career working with women and teens in the social service sector. For the past 20 years, she has developed educational programs and consulted on strategic leadership and management issues in both the public and private sectors.
