Alan has been a member of Washington Hebrew Congregation since 1998. An active participant in the WHC Brotherhood, Alan has served as its Treasurer and is currently President. In 2005, Alan was recognized with the Temple’s Avodah Award for his dedication to the local and Jewish Communities. Growing out of a 2002 Mitzvah Day project, Dr. Singer organized dental treatment for more than 250 Abram Simon Elementary School students at Howard University, a vital service which continues to this day.

He has served as the Co-Chair of the Medical/Dental Division of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, Israel Bonds of Washington, and has sat on the Executive Board of the Jewish National Fund and the Maimonides Dental Society. Currently, Alan is on the Executive Board of the JSSA and Alpha Omega Holocaust Survivor Panel of Dentists, who provide free dental care. He also provides free dental care to residents of the Hebrew Home. Professionally, Alan is a Past President of the District of Columbia Dental Society, Secretary-Treasurer of the Metro Washington Section’s Executive Board of the American College of Dentists, and Vice President, Professional Relations, Conrad & Associates, Improving Health Literacy.

Alan graduated from Brooklyn College and holds a DDS from Howard University College of Dentistry. Alan did a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery and practices in Chevy Chase. He and his wife, Frances, and son, Samuel, reside in Rockville.
