Allison has been an active part of the Washington Hebrew Congregation community since her preschool days. It was at Temple that she attended Religious School, became a bat mitzvah, was confirmed, and was married. Allison’s parents, Wendy and Dr. Jeffrey Cossman, are also longtime members of the synagogue.

Allison has served on the 2239 Steering Committee since 2013 and previously worked as a part-time teacher for Washington Hebrew Congregation Religious School’s Pre-K Gan classes. Allison is the Communications Director of GatherDC, a local nonprofit organization that helps Jewish 20s and 30s find connection and community across the DMV. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Communication Studies from The University of Michigan in 2012. She is also a certified yoga instructor and enjoys walking, baking, and being outdoors.

Allison and her husband Andrew Friedman have one daughter and live in North Bethesda.
