The best way to have fun, make friends, and gain leadership experience during your high school years!

We invite and encourage all 9th - 12th graders to become WHECTY members and take part in the wide assortment of programs and opportunities we offer. WHECTY has never been better, and now is the time for you to be part of the amazing memories.

WHECTY is part of NFTY-MAR, the North American Federation of Temple Youth - Mid-Atlantic Region, and we participate in conventions throughout the year that bring together hundreds of teens from around our region.

WHECTY Presents: Minute to Win It


Join us for a fun afternoon of Minute to Win It style challenges, food, fun, and more!

Time: 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Location: Ira Miller's house (address provided upon RSVP)

Open to all students in grades 8-12.

WHECTY's Progressive Purim Prep Program


Join us for WHECTY’s Purim Prep Program! For the first time in the history of Washington Hebrew Congregation we will be setting up and running TWO Purim Carnivals at two different locations!

We need the help of our 8-12 graders to make this the best Purim ever! Join us on Saturday, March 7 for a Progressive Purim Prep Program!

Here's a rundown of how the busy evening will go:

5:00 p.m. Purim Prep Program begins at Temple (optional bus from the Bindeman Center at 4:30 p.m. – please be sure to sign up for the 4:30 p.m. Bindeman bus option!)
5:00 – 6:45 p.m. Purim Prep at Temple
6:45 p.m. Bus to the Julia Bindeman Suburban Center (NO students will be allowed to drive themselves during the program)
7:15 P.M. Dinner and Purim prep at JBSC
10:00 p.m. Special celebratory Dessert
10:30 p.m. End of Program! (optional bus to Washington Hebrew Congregation which will arrive at 11 p.m. – please be sure to sign up for the 10:30 p.m. Temple bus option)

There is no cost to attend but you MUST register in advance!
