Katie Porter:

Katie Porter (D-CA) is a newly-elected Congresswoman from California's 45th congressional district. A first-time Democratic candidate, Porter won her historically red district this past November, and just took office with the new Congress in early January. Porter, who is married with three children, is also a law professor at U.C. Irvine and a consumer protection attorney. 

Michael Twitty:

Michael W. Twitty is an African American Jewish writer, culinary historian, and educator. He is the author of The Cooking Gene, which won the 2018 James Beard Foundation Book Award for Book of the Year. A native Washingtonian, Twitty converted to Judaism when he was 25.
