Mah Jongg Tournament

Whether you are a "mah jongg maven," never touched a tile, or somewhere in between, we invite you to join us for a day of mah jongg!

Washington Hebrew Congregation's Rabbi Joseph Weinberg ECC Parents Committee is sponsoring a day of mah jongg for all player levels.

Date: Sunday, November 4
Time: Doors open at 9:30 am; play begins at 10:00 am

We have three options for play:

Regular Tournament (6 rounds): $50

If you are an experienced player who can comfortably play at least 4 games in 50 minutes according to the National Mah Jongg League rules, this competitive tournament is perfect for you. Game play will end at 4:00 pm and prize money will be awarded for first, second, and third places. Please note, winners must be present to claim prizes.

Junior Tournament (3 rounds): $25

If you can play mah jongg but are not ready for the “big leagues," join us for an easier paced tournament. You'll play three 50-minute, 2-game rounds, switch tables, and keep score. Game play will end at 1:00 pm, and you are eligible to win prize money and door prizes! Please note, winners must be present to claim prizes.

Mah Jongg 101 (Learning Room): $25

Interested in learning how to play mah jongg? Mah Jongg 101 is a relaxed introductory class. From the card, to the tiles, to the National Mah Jongg League rules, and the basic mechanics of the game, you will leave with an understanding of how the game works and ready to take the next step!
