On the High Holy Days, we take the opportunity to recommit ourselves to social action and perform acts of tzedakah.

The Community Issues/Social Action Committee and WHECTY have teamed up to help with this year’s High Holy Day Food Drive.

We are collecting the following items to distribute to YWCA National Capital Area, So Others Might Eat (SOME), NW Community Food, and Nourish Now:

• Beans: Canned or Dried
• Canned Protein: Salmon, Tuna, and Chicken
• Canned Vegetables: Low Sodium or No Salt Added
• Canned Fruit: Light Syrup or No Sugar Added
• Cereal: Oatmeal, Cheerios, Cornflakes, and Raisin Bran
• Grains: Brown and White Rice, Pasta, and Mac & Cheese
• Healthy Snacks: Apple Sauce Cups, Raisins, and Granola Bars
• Peanut Butter
