Reform Responsa: How Judaism Informs The Big Questions of Our Lives

Wednesday November 2, 2022 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Online

Ever wonder how Reform Judaism decided to support interfaith marriage? Or what Reform Judaism has to say about issues of fertility and parenting? What about synagogue management and ethics? Back in the day, Jews around the world would bring the questions of their lives to their rebbe’s and they would receive a teshuvah, an answer. Although Reform Judaism functions differently, we too look at Jewish law and customs to answer life’s hardest questions. Join us as we dive into Reform Judaism’s most important decisions and how they affect our lives. Our primary text will be Reform Responsa for the Twenty-First Century: Sh’eilot Ut’shuvot, edited by Michael Washofsky.

All materials will be provided for each class, but if you would like to purchase the text you can do so here: Reform Responsa for the Twenty-First Century: Sh’eilot Ut’shuvot Volume 1 & 2 (ccarpress.org)

For the fall, our Wednesday Study Group will continue to meet virtually, on Zoom
