On Sunday, June 29, we’ll explore a powerful exhibit on slavery and freedom in the United States. Our group will first hear from author, lawyer, and activist-extraordinaire, Nkechi Taifa, and then visit the concourse-level exhibit on slavery and freedom. Afterwards, we will gather in the cafe to debrief and reflect together before departing.

Please note these details carefully:

  • The Museum is located at 1400 Constitution Ave, between 14th 15th, and Madison Streets, NW
  • There is street parking up and down Constitution, 14th, and 15th streets
  • The closest metro stop is Federal Triangle (Blue, Orange, and Silver lines)
  • We will meet at 10:00 AM at the group entrance facing Madison Avenue near the flagpole
  • You are absolutely welcome to spend more time at the Museum than what is allotted for our group visit

A few more things to know:

  • Outside food is NOT permitted in the building
  • There is no eating or drinking in the galleries, but you can have a water bottle with you
  • Please do not bring any large backpacks or purse,s and travel lightly – although there are lockers available on the first floor

Free to attend, but RSVP is required to secure your spot.
