In 1991, Rabbi Emeritus M. Bruce Lustig and a devoted group of lay leaders initiated “Mitzvah Day” – a day for volunteers of all ages to come together, lending their time, energy, and compassion to work on projects for social service agencies that would improve the lives of people in need.
This April, we celebrate 35 years of Mitzvah Day first by coming together on Friday night, April 10, for Shabbat@WHC where we will honor and recognize past Mitzvah Day leadership. Then on Sunday, April 12, we will join in keeping with Judaism’s teachings of tikkun olam, to repair the world and pursue justice through social activism.
Using the box above,
Before you arrive, we recommend you either print your tickets or download them to your phone so they will be readily available for scanning at check-in. If you came to High Holy Days services, Sunday Stuffing, or MLK Day of Service this year, this is the same system we have been using.
Call us during business hours at 202-362-7100, and we’ll get you registered.
That’s just how the SimpleTix Platform works, unfortunately. Don’t worry, you’re not being charged, this is a 100% volunteer endeavor.
We are collecting diapers at JBSC and Temple for the Greater DC Diaper Bank to help vulnerable families in the DMV. All sizes from newborn to size 6 are welcome.
