Rain or shine, we can’t wait to join you for a day of connection, celebration, joy, and High Holy Day preparation! Whether you and your family are longtime “sleepaway camp people” or new to the experience, this is a wonderful chance to carry the magic of summer into the Jewish New Year. Together, we’ll prepare for the New Year and start of Religious School.

When & Where:

We’ll gather from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Camp Louise (24959 Pen Mar Rd., Cascade, MD 21719), a gorgeous overnight camp nestled in nature — and less than an hour from Temple. Early birds can arrive as early as 9:30 am!

What to Expect:

The day will feature family activities, as well as separate experiences separate adult and children, including:

• Art (copper enameling!)
• Nature walks
• Adventure park
• Singing
• Games
• Story time
• Campfire with s’mores
• Plenty of snacks!

Cost:

$50 per person (ages 4+). Includes all activities, lunch, snacks, and supplies. Non-members pay an additional $18 per family.

Sample schedule for the day:

9:30-10:00 am — Arrival window: snacks, coffee (for adults), schmoozing

10:00-10:30 am — Welcome by WHC and Camp Louise teams

10:30-11:15 am — Family activities

11:15 am-12:15 pm — “Bunk” activities in smaller groups

12:15-1:15 pm — Lunch

1:15-3:15 pm — Open activities/free choice!

3:15-4:00 pm — Campfire, s’mores, singing, closing circle

4:00 pm — L’hitra-ot — Goodbyes
