Taught by DJ Schneider Jensen, Director of the Edlavitch-Tyser Early Childhood Center, this 90-hour education course provides students with a broad overview of human growth and development from birth to age eight and satisfies the requirement for pre-service teachers in Maryland and D.C.

Covering child development and the early childhood center as a learning environment, this class will focus on the use of time and space, creative activities, the evaluation process, classroom management skills, current philosophies, and planning and implementing of developmentally-appropriate practices, all through a Jewish lens.

The course costs $575 per person and is held on Tuesdays at Temple from 4:00 - 7:00 pm starting on November 8 and Wednesdays at the Julia Bindeman Suburban Center from 4:00 - 8:00 pm starting November 9. The course runs through May at both locations. For more information, contact DJ Schneider Jensen, 202-895-6360.
