Rabbi Eliana Fischel is an Associate Rabbi at Washington Hebrew Congregation. In addition to officiating services and life-cycle events, Rabbi Fischel works closely with WHC’s 2239, Upper School, Couples Club, and Women of Washington Hebrew.

Rabbi Fischel was ordained by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in 2018. While studying at HUC-JIR, she served as the rabbinic intern for Westchester Reform Temple in Scarsdale, New York. Rabbi Fischel was selected to be in the first cohort of the Roswell K’lal Yisrael Fellowship, an international leadership training program for young Jewish leaders. She was also a Bonnie and Daniel Tisch Rabbinic Fellow, part of a highly-selective program that promotes innovative synagogue leadership. Rabbi Fischel has publications in The Reform Jewish Quarterly and Inscribed: Encounters with the Ten Commandments. 

Rabbi Fischel graduated summa cum laude and phi beta kappa from Connecticut College in 2011, where she earned degrees in Psychology and Dance as well as a Certificate in Public Policy and Community Action.

A native of Scarsdale, New York, Rabbi Fischel spent her summers at the Union for Reform Judaism’s Eisner Camp. Outside her rabbinical role, Rabbi Fischel enjoys practicing yoga, cooking, and spending time with family.
