WHC READY - Part One

Are you READY to walk onto your college campus as a proud, Reform Jewish student? Are you READY to engage in conversations with peers about important, sometimes difficult, political, or social issues? Are you READY to speak up for yourself if someone tries to exclude you because you believe that the state of Israel has a right to exist?

WHC READY (Reform, Engaged, Articulate, Determined Youth) is not just a new program but a new way of thinking about how we teach our teens to interact with the greater world and how to stand up for what is right, even when it isn't easy.

Our first WHC Ready session will give students an overview of what is needed to be an aware and engaged college student. Our teens will meet with current college students who have dealt with anti-Semitism and anti-Israel bias on their campuses and participate in a series of workshops to better understand the issues they may face on campus. Guest speakers include Zack Beauchamp, Senior Correspondent at Vox, and Evan Traylor, Associate Director for College Engagement at the Union for Reform Judaism.
