Amram Scholar Series Presents: Jodi Kantor

“#MeToo,” She Said: Documenting “Kolot Isha” (Women’s Voices)

Jodi Kantor is a prize-winning investigative reporter for The New York Times and best-selling author whose work has revealed hidden truths about power, gender, technology, politics, and culture. When she and her colleague Megan Twohey broke the story of Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein’s decades of alleged sexual abuse, she helped spark a movement that exposed systematic abuses across industries.

In Ms. Kantor’s newest book, She Said, to be released this month, and during a program at Temple, she will take us behind the scenes of investigative journalism, revealing how she and her colleagues exposed secrets that have been hidden for decades and gave rise to women’s voices. In exploring the resonance of the Weinstein investigation, we will tackle several topics including the misuse of power and position against women, how society responds to the reality many women face, what really creates social progress, and how we can navigate the #MeToo era with fairness.
