Macomb St. Shabbat

Macomb St. Shabbat is a soulful Shabbat evening with joy and connection at its center. Come at 6:00 pm for Chevruta — a deep and engaging Torah discussion for adults with our clergy, a Shabbat story corner for kids, and hot hors-d'oeuvres and drinks for everyone. We will light the candles and say kiddish together at 6:30 pm followed by our service at 6:40 pm. The service will have live musical accompaniment, and encourages participation, interaction, and connection. We’ll celebrate simchas, offer support through Mi Shebeirach and Kaddish prayers, and bless all our children. Afterward, eat, and drink, connect with clergy if you are new, or head off to begin your weekend. It’s all up to you! Macomb St. Shabbat is made possible through the support of the Irene & Abe Pollin Music Program Initiative.

In partnership with FIDF NEXT and the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, we invite young adults who traveled to Israel on Birthright trips this summer for a special blessing. An oneg will follow the service.

Birthright alumni are invited to gather prior to the service at Cactus Cantina. Please RSVP here if you plan to attend.

Led by Rabbi Miller, Rabbi Fischel, and Cantor Bortnick.
