Tikkun Leil Shavuot: (Re)Claiming Shavuot

(Re)Claim Your Connection to Judaism — and Cheesecake!*

*Shavuot is associated with eating dairy, and — for just one night — we can pretend that the moon is made of cheese(cake).

One of the most distinctive customs of Shavuot is “Tikkun Leil Shavuot,” an evening-long study session. Join us as Washington Hebrew and Temple Emanuel reclaim this holiday tradition together with creative and traditional learning sessions, Havdalah, stories of (re)dedication to Judaism, and a dessert reception featuring our first-ever "Great Shavuot Cheesecake Bake-Off."

What is a Cheesecake Bake-Off?

Are you a good baker? Do you have a cheesecake that people love? We invite you to bake your best cheesecake and bring it to Tikkun Leil Shavuot. Everyone will have a chance to sample each cheesecake and vote on their favorite, which will be crowned "The Big Cheese of Shavuot"!

This program is free, but please click here to RSVP so we can plan appropriately

When you RSVP for Tikkun Leil Shavuot, you can also sign-up to enter the competition. All attendees will receive copies of the recipes.
