Brotherhood Softball Teams Score Big During Spring Season

Brotherhood’s two softball teams wrapped up their spring 2019 season in the Suburban Maryland Softball League in mid-July.

The six-time champion Washington Hebrew Nationals came in second place overall, falling 13-11 in the finals to B’nai Shalom of Olney. This was the ninth consecutive finals appearance for the Washington Hebrew Nationals, and the team continues to demonstrate that it is a force to be reckoned with.

The Washington He’Brews, Brotherhood’s other team, had their best season to date, advancing to the second round of the playoffs this season.

“Its a credit to Washington Hebrew that we can field two competitive teams from our Brotherhood,” Hebrew Nats co-captain Rob Bindeman said. “It takes a lot of guys to get through a season that starts in early April and ends in mid-July. Only two other synagogues in the area have two teams. Its something WHC should be really proud of.”
