District Shabbat

District Shabbat combines the high energy of Washington and the deep spirituality of Reform Judaism to create this all-ages Shabbat experience at the Southwest Waterfront.

There hasn’t been a regular synagogue presence in Southwest since 1995, and we are excited for the opportunities our new District Shabbat will bring to the Southwest community and its visitors. It’s WHC bringing the heart of D.C. to downtown D.C.

What is District Shabbat?

Much more than a Shabbat service, this is a Shabbat experience led by WHC clergy and internationally celebrated folk-rock musicians Dan Nichols and Alan Goodis. It's a Friday evening in the heart of D.C. that builds community through joyful, musical worship, learning, food, and drinks.

Our May 10 District Shabbat has been canceled. We apologize for any inconvenience.
