Washington Hebrew Congregation (WHC) is firmly committed to maintaining the privacy of visitors to its website and privacy of visitors to websites for which it is affiliated. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for the following websites: http://www.whctemple.org (WHC's Temple website); http://www.whcreligiousschool.com (WHC's Religious School); http://www.whcecc.org (WHC's ECC website); http://whctemple.blogspot.com (WHC's Blog). By using these sites, you consent to the terms and conditions of this privacy policy. WHC reserves the right to modify its privacy policy from time to time. Information Collection and Use WHC believes that personally identifying information, such as your name, postal and e-mail address or telephone number, is private and confidential. You can have general access to our site without providing any personally identifying information. WHC collects personally identifying information only when you voluntarily submit it, such as when you e-mail comments, request information, place an order, sign up for a discussion group or e-newsletter, or register for an event. Information in WHC's Database WHC maintains a centralized database of its members and those who partake in WHC functions and/or services. This database is used for mailing the Temple Journal and eNewsletter. In addition, WHC maintains contact information about the lay and professional leadership the congregation. Use of this information is governed by the opt-in/opt-out policies outlined below. Release of Information to Third Parties WHC does not release your personally identifying information to third parties unless you have given us permission to do so or unless such release is required to comply with the law or to protect the rights or safety of WHC or our website users. Information that is collected will not be sold, shared, or rented to any outside company or organization. Information that is collected will be used solely for the purpose for which it is given or to inform you of WHC events and resources. Use of Material on Our Sites All content, with the exclusion of material attributed to or hyperlinked to external sites, is the property of Washington Hebrew Congregation and may not be reproduced in whole or in part without the written permission of WHC. WHC is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of other such websites and does not assume responsibility for the content of the material on other sites. Online Order Forms Our sites use order forms for customers to request information, products, and services. We collect visitors' contact information (i.e., their name, phone number, e-mail addresses, etc.) and unique identifiers (i.e., account numbers, passwords, etc.). Contact information from the order forms is used to send orders and information about our organization to our customers/visitors who request it. The customer's contact information is also used to get in touch with the visitor when necessary. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings (see the choice/opt-out section below). Information that is collected on online order forms becomes the property of WHC. WHC does not sell, market or distribute this information and will not use it for purposes other than indicated in this privacy policy. Registration On certain parts of our site (mainly registration forms and catalogue orders), users are required to give contact information (such as their names and e-mail addresses) and unique identifiers (such as passwords, account numbers or congregational information). This information is used to send users the information they request and/or to fulfill orders that are created online. The contact information may also be used to contact the visitor when necessary. Unique identifiers (such as account numbers and passwords) are collected for use as account numbers in our record system. Congregational or account information submitted by users may be used to verify and protect users identity when they are conducting online transactions through our Web site. WHC may use contact information to distribute news it deems of general interest to its members or those affiliated with WHC. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings (see the choice/opt-out section). Online Surveys Our online surveys may ask visitors for contact information (such as e-mail addresses and congregational information). We may use contact data from our surveys to send the user information about our Congregation. The user's contact information may also be used to contact the visitor when necessary. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings (see the choice/opt-out section below). Information that is collected online in surveys becomes the property of WHC. WHC does not sell, market or distribute this information and will not use it for purposes other than indicated in this privacy policy. Public Forums WHC sponsors numerous Listserv discussion groups for its members. These discussion groups are a free service to enable members to share comments about a wide variety of content. Only individuals older than 13 years of age may participate and by participating you are certifying that you are old enough to participate. WHC may make the postings to ListServ discussion groups available to its users. We ask that participants refrain from including profanity, obscenities, hateful, and/or defamatory language. WHC does not review items before they are posted and reserves the right to remove any information posted. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REMOVE ANYONE FROM LIST WHO VIOLATES THESE PROCEDURES. Security The sites covered by this policy have security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control: https://members.whctemple.org uses secure servers furnished by our web host, (C) Systems, LLC Hosting, when transferring personal and financial information across its server. Therefore, information transferred by users on non-secure parts of WHC's site is done at the users discretion. Choice/Opt-Out WHC gives users the following options for removing their information from our database to not receive future communications or to no longer receive our service.
