Washington Hebrew Congregation’s
NEW Programs for 11th & 12th Graders
Imagine being able to come to your Temple, take a class in the
evenings, and, at the end of one semester, have earned 3 credits
that are transferable to any university or college that you might
attend in the future. This program not only looks great on a college
resume, but you will actually earn college credit and lighten your
load wherever you might attend.
On Wednesday evenings starting February 1, students from Reform
and Conservative synagogues will meet at Washington Hebrew on Macomb
Street to take a Jewish Studies class, offered at half-price from
Baltimore Hebrew University. This year the course offered is “A
Survey of Modern Jewish History: Relations and Reactions to the
Outside Non-Jewish World.” Not only will you meet new people and do
some serious Jewish learning on a higher level than ever before, but
you will be directly helping your college plans.
This program is a joint collaboration between Washington Hebrew
Congregation, the Union for Reform Judaism, the United Synagogue of
Conservative Judaism, and Baltimore Hebrew University. Rabbis
Lustig and Hessel are the course instructors.
