:: Minds MatterShare Your Expertise Minds Matter is a program for WHC members who have an expertise they would like to share with non-profit organizations in the metropolitan area. Working in small teams with other Temple members, volunteers typically give 3-5 hours of their time per month for approximately 4-6 months to help non-profit organizations achieve their missions more effectively. Minds Matter has just completed its third successful year and is now looking to you to broaden its volunteer base. Past projects have included board development for The Arc of NoVa and Iona Senior Services; lawyers working with the Legal Clinic for the Homeless; strategic planning for the Helen Hayes Awards; and internal projects for WHC. The four avenues of consulting for non-profits are: board development, strategic planning, restructuring, and fundraising strategy assessment. Individuals with business and/or non-profit backgrounds and experience are especially needed. Previous consulting experience is not necessary as training will be provided. Volunteers in our group report tremendous satisfaction and ease of participation and are grateful to be involved in building our community in a positive manner. Meeting and making new friends among fellow congregants is an added benefit that has been particularly rewarding for our volunteers. We invite you to join us in this exciting, fulfilling and worthwhile endeavor. Your level of commitment is up to you. There is no long term obligation, but we need to hear from you by October 17 to include you in this year's projects. Please contact one of the Minds Matter coordinators, Joan Greenbaum or Bobby Lipnick for more information or to volunteer. |
