Minds Matter

Every member of Washington Hebrew Congregation has unique perspectives, skills, and experiences.

In Minds Matter, we proudly draw upon this wealth of wisdom to help nonprofit organizations in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area.

Working in small teams with fellow Temple members, volunteers typically lend 3-5 hours of time per month, for approximately 4-6 months, to help nonprofit organizations achieve their missions more effectively.

Past projects have included board development for The Arc of Northern Virginia and Iona Senior Services; legal expertise for the Legal Clinic for the Homeless; strategic planning for the Home Care Partners and the Helen Hayes Awards; and internal projects for the Temple. Volunteers enjoy a gratifying personal experience of giving back, with the side benefit of forging new friendships with like-minded Temple members.
