:: Early Childhood CenterWe at Washington Hebrew Congregation believe that children are our most precious resource. Consequently, we recognize that it is incumbent upon us to create a warm, positive environment for their learning. We recognize that every child is a unique individual, and that we must strive to assist our children in discovering themselves as well as the world around them. We believe that group experience is part of life and that each child should have the opportunity to discover the meaning of sharing and be conscious of his/her own rights, as well as the prerogatives of others. The coming year is sure to be a time of continued growth for our Edlavitch/Tyser Early Childhood Center at the Temple and the Rabbi Joseph Weinberg Early Childhood Center at the Julia Bindeman Suburban Center. Our early childhood centers provide a warm, positive environment where children can discover themselves and the world around them. Through “hands-on” activities, games, music, manipulative materials, crafts and audio-visual material, we strive to stimulate a child’s natural creative interests and to help build a positive self-image in a friendly group atmosphere. Our program is committed to helping each child develop emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually. We combine the best of Jewish content with appropriate early childhood, social, emotional and cognitive developmental programs. We are fortunate to have professional Jewish religious educators, rabbis, cantors and other religiously committed personnel who allow us to provide the finest environment for deepening children’s appreciation of their Jewish heritage. Our school has been awarded a Certificate of Commendation in Jewish Education from the Board of Jewish Education of Greater Washington, now the Partnership for Jewish Life and Learning. |
