:: Caring Committee

WHC’s Caring Committee is dedicated to reaching out to our Temple community, especially during times when congregants need special attention. The Caring Committee works with our rabbis to provide comfort to the sick and homebound. In addition, they are a committee that all Temple members can comfortably turn to when they need a helping hand for any reason. The Caring Committee coordinates rides to Temple events, arranges to phone or visit those who are temporarily or permanently homebound, drops off meals, lends a hand to members who need help with shopping or transportation to medical appointments...the list is endless.

But we need your help! If you or another Temple member you know could use a helping hand, please let us know by using the contact information below. You can also write this information on one of our WHC CARING CARDS located in the main office at Temple and the Julia Bindeman Suburban Center and drop it in the CARING BOX. This might be the only way we learn that someone in our Temple community is in a difficult situation.

If you would like to lend a helping hand to someone in need, please let us know that too. If you are available to occasionally drive a homebound congregant, prepare a meal, shop or visit with someone then become a part of our volunteer network by using the contact information below or filling out an I CARE CARD at Temple or the Julia Bindeman Suburban Center.

We also want to hear good news! If someone you know is celebrating a special birthday or anniversary, moving to a new home, welcoming a baby, getting married or marking some other significant event, tell us about that too. Along with Caring Cards, we have SIMCHA CARDS, which you can fill out and drop in the Caring Box.

We hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity to help and to be helped by those who really care.
