Although it may still seem quite a distance in the future, your children are quickly approaching the time when they will become a Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
We invite you to join us on Sunday, April 23 at 9:30 am for a program designed for you and your child at the building in which your child attends religious school.
(Please note, if your 5th grader is enrolled in independent study, you are welcome to come and join us at whichever building you prefer.)
Recognizing that the Bar/Bat Mitzvah is filled with rituals, we will focus on the role rituals play in our lives. We ask that you please bring with you a family heirloom or ritual object that has special meaning for your family.
During our time together, we will also have an engaging service that unpacks and explains the sections of our worship service, so that you and your child are prepared to fully participate in the Bar/Bat Mitzvah service. Additionally, we will explain the preparation process for the Bar/Bat Mitzvah, explore the relationship between the Religious School and becoming a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, as well as answer your questions pertaining to the process. The program will conclude by 12:00 pm.
