Coming of age may not be easy — but it sure can be hilarious. In Neil Simon’s much-loved autobiographical comedy, Brighton Beach Memoirs, 15-year old Eugene Morris Jerome lives in 1930’s Brooklyn and thinks of little else but playing for the Yankees…and girls. Eugene’s witty commentary about his life, his overworked father, his overbearing mother, his overconfident brother, and his overly gorgeous cousin, makes this tender journey through young adulthood both poignant and joyful. The cast features three teen actors and is suitable for ages 11 and up.
